Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get a TWINT merchant account ?
The account is usually activated immediately. It can take longer if the supporting documents are incomplete : check that your IBAN and your details are clearly visible on the bank statement.
What are the TWINT fees ?
Sign-up is free. On each transaction, TWINT typically charges 1.3 % + CHF 0.30 (the exact rate depends on your contract). These fees are independent of Pay4All Twint, which on its side costs CHF 7.–/month or CHF 70.–/year per domain.
When am I credited after a sale ?
TWINT transfers funds to your IBAN either daily or weekly. You choose in the TWINT portal, section Settings.
What if the connection test fails in Pay4All Twint ?
The most common causes :
- Wrong UUID : copy it directly from the TWINT portal.
- Wrong certificate password : it is the password you entered when creating the TWINT certificate.
- Expired certificate : TWINT certificates are valid for 2 years. Generate a new one.
My certificate is about to expire, what should I do ?
Log in to the TWINT portal, generate a new certificate before the old one expires, then replace it in Pay4All Twint.
I lost the certificate password. What should I do ?
The simplest option is to create a new online shop from the TWINT portal.
Can I use the same UUID and the same certificate for several sites ?
Yes. One TWINT merchant account = one UUID + one certificate. You can use them on several WordPress sites. Each domain must, however, have its own Pay4All Twint license (CHF 7.–/month or CHF 70.–/year).
My TWINT account was refused. Why ?
TWINT refuses incomplete files and some activities (online betting, adult content, unregulated financial services, etc.). Check the list of accepted activities on portal.twint.ch before resubmitting a file.
